Brother Duo The Cactus Blossoms Bring Timeless Sound To The Modern Era With You’re Dreaming Via Red House Records On January 22nd

Minneapolis-based brother duo The Cactus Blossoms will release You’re Dreaming (produced by JD McPherson) on January 22nd, via Red House Records. Inspired by fellow Minnesotan, Bob Dylan – Jack Torrey and Page Burkum began making something new out of classic forms and minimal instrumentation. By infusing elements of early rock’n’roll and classic country, The Cactus Blossoms have created a sound that is both timeless and contemporary, accompanied by thoughtful lyrics and soaring harmonies.

What immediately jumps out when listening to the ten originals on You’re Dreaming, are the The Cactus Blossoms’ incredible, seamless vocals. The duo shines a spotlight on the time-honored tradition of blood harmony, best illustrated by artists such as The Everly Brothers or The Carpenters. Watch and listen to the brothers live performance on the rooftop at the Turf Club in St. Paul, MN. (Click HERE) The Cactus Blossoms’ style has grabbed the attention of both press and radio.  The BBC’s Bob Harris has described their work as “completely stunning” and the brothers have already appeared as guests on Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion. Originals like the danceable “Stoplight Kisses” with its shuffle rhythm and “Clown Collector” deliver what The Cactus Blossoms have become known for; writing and performing songs with infectious melodies that are guaranteed to stick in your head. The duo has penchant for heartfelt ballads such as beautiful “Queen Of Them All” and the introspective “If I Can’t Win”.

Jack and Page were raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Though they came from what they call a “musical family”, they didn’t naturally inherit their deep understanding of early American music. By tracing their heroes’ footsteps back to the roots, they came into their style in a very genuine way. By absorbing these musical discoveries, a natural alchemy took place and what transpired is the tasteful rejuvenation and transformation of a classic sound by a modern duo.

The Cactus Blossoms will be taking their infectious blend of rock’n’roll and timeless country on the road in support of You’re Dreaming.  A full list of tour dates is included below.
