John Moreland

With the soul of a poet and the look of a Sons of Anarchy extra, Tulsa’s
John Moreland has been gifted the sort of gravely, booming voice that
does Bruce Springsteen proud and a similar understanding
of the universal human experience
.” – Oklahoma Gazette

Some days, being John Moreland has to hurt. As others bury experiences and stifle regrets, Moreland pokes old wounds until you’re sure they’ve got to be bleeding again. It’s painful. But in Moreland’s care, it’s also breathtakingly beautiful. When the Tulsa-based artist unveiled In the Throes in the June of 2013, the album didn’t just charm listeners — it stunned them. American Songwriter, No Depression and others began urging people to pay attention, as did the hit FX television series Sons of Anarchy, which featured three Moreland tracks. On April 21 via Thirty Tigers, Moreland will release High on Tulsa Heat, his highly anticipated third solo album. Self-produced and recorded in a home studio in Oklahoma, High on Tulsa Heat offers another round of the lyrics-first, gorgeously plaintive songs that have earned him devoted listeners across the country. Sons Of Bill

“…one of those delightful surprises that music so rarely springs in the age of digital access and instant discovery.” 4 stars – The Guardian

Gorgeous…Virginia’s scholarly heirs to R.E.M. 8/10 UNCUT

Charlottesville, Virginia brothers Abe, James and Sam Wilson (aka rock outfit Sons Of Bill) released their latest album Love & Logic on September 30 via Thirty Tigers with critical acclaim both in the U.S. and Europe.  With Grammy nominated producer and former Wilco / Uncle Tupelo drummer Ken Coomer at the helm, Sons Of Bill elevated their artistry to new heights by making an album that is as current as it is rooted in the foundations of early alt-country, long before the term Americana was coined. The album received coverage from American Songwriter, Relix, Paste, Examiner, Rolling Stone Country, Country Weekly and many more. USA Today wrote that “Sons Of Bill proves that good alt-country isn’t dead.”

CMT Edge recently posted a live of session of the band performing “Road To Canaan” (View HERE). For more information on Sons Of Bill, click HERE.
