“A powerful voice and perceptive pen…” Austin Chronicle

“An acclaimed singer-songwriter with a haunting, introspective catalog of piercing songs on society, religion, and the darker shades of the heart.” Analogue

Nashville, TN – Acclaimed singer/songwriter David Ramirez has released a video for his new song  ”I Got People,” off of his highly anticipated new album All The Not So Gentle Reminders (out March 21st via Blue Corn Music).

The piano driven, pop-infused track features a bouncy, uplifting tempo that cleverly cloaks the lyrical undercurrent of a post-relationship melancholy. “This was written while I was in ‘relationship limbo’”, says Ramirez. “There was only one person I wanted to call, just one person I wanted to be around but their presence was often never seen or felt. At any given moment I knew I could pick up the phone and find a friend with whom to grab a bite, catch a movie, have a night cap, but I would so often leave my schedule wide open on the off chance that the one I loved would show up and want to do something with me. There might just be one feeling worse than heartbreak and that is feeling so deeply for a person who just doesn’t want you at all.” Watch the new video for “I Got People” HERE.

All The Not So Gentle Reminders may be the most creatively liberating album in Ramirez’s body of work. The album is an eclectic twelve-song collection that takes the listener on a musical journey. The songs feature richly textured arrangements, ethereal acoustic balladry, sweeping choruses and hints of cabaret.

All The Not So Gentle Reminders is a wide-ranging musical tour-de-force with Ramirez’s remarkable voice as the constant thread spinning stories and painting poetic imagery throughout. Fans have known for some time that he has a gift for conveying passion and emotion in his songs. On All The Not So Gentle Reminders, David Ramirez succeeds in achieving just that, but on a new creative and artistic plain.
