Nashville, TN – Today, the lauded Americana quintet Fruition has released their new song, “I Dare You,” co-written by Willy Tea Taylor of The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit, Rainbow Girls, and Anna Moss of Handmade Moments. Listen to “I Dare You” HERE.
“‘I Dare You’ started when Willy Tea Taylor picked up a rock and skipped it over to me,” says Fruition’s Jay Cobb Anderson. “I caught it and skipped it further down the river. The Rainbow Girls, and Anna Moss of Handmade Moments, and a few others caught it and each time skipped it further downstream. When it came back around, Willy said, ‘You oughta record that with Tucker Martine.’ So we did. Here it is. Dig!”
Fruition recorded “I Dare You” with one of their favorite collaborators, Producer Tucker Martine, at Flora Recording in their old stomping grounds of Portland, OR. Megan Letts of Mama Magnolia added backing vocals to the band’s trademark three-part harmonies, with lead vocals shared by Jay Cobb Anderson and Mimi Naja. After playing the song live on their recent tour with Caamp, the band felt compelled to release the track as soon as possible for fans clamoring for the studio version.
“I Dare You” follows the 2024 release of their acclaimed new album, How to Make Mistakes. Fruition’s long-awaited album received high critical praise upon release, which included Rolling Stone, Glide, Americana Highways, Bluegrass Situation, Live for Live Music and more.
