Today, indie trio Wild Rivers releases their new album Sidelines. The album captures Wild Rivers [Khalid Yassein (guitars, vocals, keys), Andrew Oliver (lead guitar, synths), Devan Glover (vocals)]  as they navigate their twenties, moving from the college years into the uncharted territories of adulthood.  While introspective and thoughtful, songs on Sidelines also offer the lighthearted fun of discovering a whole new world. The optimistic “Stubborn Heart” is one of the album’s lightest songs, full of seamless harmonies and playful moments. Listen to Sidelines HERE, and watch the “Stubborn Heart” video HERE.

“Stubborn Heart” follows the band’s recent single “Bedrock,” about which Under The Radar said: “‘Bedrock’ is a stirring, shimmering indie pop reflection, carried by wistful vocal harmonies and a sweet pop melody….The resulting track expertly straddles the lines between folk and indie, offering an empathetic and enveloping comfort and a piece of poignant pop beauty.”  Other Sidelines singles include “Long Time,” an atmospheric, keys-driven duet that harps on the pain felt after a breakup, and “Amsterdam,” a musing on the restlessness of young adulthood.

Wild Rivers has been connecting with audiences since their self-titled debut in 2016, creating music that’s intelligent and nuanced while remaining accessible. Audiences are deeply relating to their angelic harmonies, genre-fluid melodies and introspective lyrics, resulting in over 250 million streams along with over 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify. The live setting is where Wild Rivers truly shines; after selling out 2021 shows in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Washington DC, San Francisco, Nashville and other major markets, the band has moved into larger venues on their current US run to accommodate demand. Wild Rivers has been selected to perform at both BottleRock and Bonnaroo this year as well. For tour dates, see below or go to www.wildriversmusic.com/tour.

The 10-track Sidelines was co-produced by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Sharon van Etten) and Wild Rivers and recorded in Connecticut, Los Angeles and Khalid and Devan’s college town of Kingston, Ontario. Their 2016 debut was followed by their acclaimed EPs, 2018’s Eighty-Eight and 2020’s Songs To Break Up ToSidelines is their second full-length release.
