Eclectic Canadian duo Whitehorse has announced an extensive cross-country U.S. tour following the February 17 release of their sophomore album, Leave No Bridge Unburned (Six Shooter Records). The tour will kick-off in Nashville on March 12 with appearances in Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Washington D.C. and performances at SXSW music conference (View full tour dates below). Whitehorse was recently named one of NPR Music’s “Musicians You’ll Tell Your Friends About In 2015” (View HERE).
Formed in 2010, Whitehorse is a husband and wife band that built acclaimed, award-nominated, solo careers before joining forces. Leave No Bridge Unburned is the follow up to the Polaris Prize nominated The Fate of the World Depends On This Kiss (2012) that received major critical acclaim in both Canada and the U.S. press, including BUST, Huffington Post, Penthouse, The Globe & Mail and The National Post (View highlights HERE).
The overall sound of Leave No Bridge Unburned feels as if Phil Spector’s Wall Of Sound was utilized by Ennio Morricone to score a Spaghetti Western. The album opens with the sizzling, Bond-esque “Baby What’s Wrong”, setting the tone for and eclectic ride that features the hauntingly gorgeous “Tame As The Wild Ones”, the politically charged, Bo Diddley-inspired “Living Downtown“, the spacious, yet intimate “Dear Irony”, and the rollicking “Oh Dolores”. Whitehorse recently released a new video for the beautiful track, “Sweet Disaster” (View HERE).
A Whitehorse live performance is a mesmerizing musical ballet. Doucet and McClelland play multiple instruments, often simultaneously, while incorporating loops and layers of percussion to create dense soundscapes that compliment their captivating vocal harmonies. Audiences continue to grow as the two tour extensively with their must-see performances. In 2013, Whitehorse sold out Toronto’s famed Massey Hall, where they will return May 8.
Much like their live performances, Whitehorse is a band that refuses to remain stationary. Leave No Bridge Unburned is a true testament that the ride has only just begun.
