Acclaimed Indie Rock Band Sarah Shook & The Disarmers Return With New Album “Nightroamer” Out February 18th via Thirty Tigers

Acclaimed indie rock band Sarah Shook & The Disarmers have announced the February 18th release of their highly anticipated third album Nightroamer (Thirty Tigers). The North Carolina-based quintet has built a reputation for no-frills, honky-tonk-infused rock with a punk spirit. On Nightroamer, the unit expands their sound with pop sensibilities and melodies without sacrificing the unflinching intensity that their fervent fanbase love. Watch the video for their driving, gritty new single “Talkin’ To Myself” HERE.

Led by Shook on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, The Disarmers are a seasoned powerhouse, featuring Eric Peterson (lead guitar), Aaron Oliva (bass), Jack Foster (drums), and Adam Kurtz (pedal steel). With Shook out front, the group puts on commanding live performances that leave captivated audiences riveted.

Produced by Grammy-winner Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam, k.d. lang) Nightroamer is a collection of 10 songs written by Shook that take a hard look at relationships, but do not claim to have one-size-fits-all answers. Infectious album opener “Somebody Else” chronicles a dysfunctional relationship with Shook asking questions by looking inward and looking at the other, while also realizing that the abuser will ultimately find someone new. They empathetically consider that someone and how it might continue.

Shook offers up some wry wit with the acerbic send-off “Please Be A Stranger”, while “I Got This” is punched-up pop bliss. Addiction and depression are addressed with compassion and understanding through the melodic country soul of “It Doesn’t Change Anything”, as omission and regret fuel the roadhouse blues of “No Mistakes”. One of the highlights on Nightroamer is the mesmerizing “If It’s Poison”.  With its blend of 1950’s and psychedelic rock, the song is a romantic throwback filled with warmth and hope.

Whether it is their songwriting, their performances or their activism in the LGBTQ community, Sarah Shook is unwavering when it comes to taking chances, being honest, open and even vulnerable. As a group, Sarah Shook & The Disarmers continue to evolve, offering smart, inspiring and sincere music overflowing with passion and integrity, all of which come together on Nightroamer.
