CELEBRATED CALIFORNIA QUARTET KICKS OFF SPRING TOUR TONIGHT IN DENVER AND TOMORROW IN BOULDER
“ALO are one of the most interesting acts in the world of jam because like The Beatles, all four members write songs, they each deliver lead vocals and all of them have their own unique approach to music…they have yet again painted a sonic picture with ‘Frames’ that is inherently ‘Californian’ and ready to be road tested” – Goldmine
Nashville, TN – Today, ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra) releases their eclectic new album Frames (Brushfire Records), ahead of their highly anticipated spring tour, which kicks off tonight at Cervantes’ Masterpiece Ballroom in Denver, CO (see full list of tour dates below).
The group’s disco-infused new single “Hey Hello (Tale Of The Twist & Shout)” is out today. Magnet Magazine posted the exclusive premiere of the track yesterday and said of ALO, “The band has been evolving organically in all the right directions going on three decades, cultivating an enthusiastic, open-minded fanbase one show at a time at venues and festivals all over the world.”
“This is a song inspired by the relationship between audience and performer,” says vocalist/keyboardist Zach Gill. “It’s a greeting. It’s a late-night campfire conversation under the stars. It’s an ole’ timey ho down in a space disco. It was inspired by our 2024 summer tour of Colorado mountain towns and all the colorful characters who came out to dance and sing with us under the stars.” Listen to “Hey Hello (Tale Of The Twist & Shout)” HERE.
Frames features ALO’s genre-busting blend of rock, alt-pop, R&B, folk, dance, funk and a touch of clever wit, all played by an exceptional group of musicians with four distinct musical personalities – all of whom write and sing lead. The constant theme running throughout Frames is a reaction to the rapid pace in which we live our lives. The easy-going first single, “Blank Canvas” offers some much-needed positivity by encouraging us to leave cynicism behind. Drummer/vocalist Ezra Lipp identifies our faults and learning how to own them without letting them own us on the alt-rock infused “Rescue Our Demons,” while bassist/vocalist Steve Adams’ optimistic “Simple Sentimental Dream” diffuses some of the trepidation that comes with opening ourselves up to relationships. The light-hearted album closer, “Friends,” leans into the joy and simplicity of good friendships, and how vital those human interactions are to happiness.
ALO is Steve Adams (bass/vocals), Zach Gill (keyboards/vocals), Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz (guitar/vocals) and Ezra Lipp (drums/vocals).
