STAND ALONE TRACK FOLLOWS THE TRIUMPHANT RELEASE OF ACCLAIMED NEW ALBUM HOW TO MAKE MISTAKES

“…there’s a brittle wisdom on this album, a sense of having to piece oneself back together and finding strength in a shared voice.”
 Rolling Stone

“…a baker’s dozen of strongly cohesive folk and Americana tracks, marking their most consistently solid album to date.”
–  Glide

“This is one of the most accomplished albums of its kind to be released this year, with writing and performances that are mature, smart, and perfectly performed.”
 Copper Magazine

Nashville, TN – Today, lauded Americana quintet Fruition has released their eye-opening and inspirational new song, “Whole World of Trouble,” which questions the state of our society, and if our social constructs have unified or divided the majority of people. Fruition ponders the possibility of peace with wars raging abroad, and tensions rising  at home as an election shows on the horizon. Listen to “Whole World of Trouble” HERE.

“Fruition had one day off on our recent tour and we had the urgent need record this song, so we used our precious down time to do just that,” says vocalist and guitarist Jay Cobb Anderson. “We’re never gonna make it if we keep seeing each other as separate rather than one people. We are all human, and if we let politics, religion, class, isms or pride divide us, we will self-destruct. Compromise, understanding, and love is the only path to victory – or else we’re all headed for a whole world of trouble.”

The lyric “the only solution is a kinder revolution” encapsulates the spirit of the song best. It emphatically states that our differences should be celebrated and embraced. It calls for a collective understanding that our varying struggles and opinions should not create division but should encourage communication and benevolence.

Fruition recorded, “Whole World of Trouble” live off the floor, with minimal overdubs during a half day in the studio while on tour in Portland, ME in late September.  The band felt moved to release the track as soon as possible feeling that we all should consider pressing “pause” and contemplate the sincere message behind it. See full lyrics below.

“Whole World of Trouble” follows the August release of their acclaimed new album, How to Make Mistakes. Fruitions long-awaited first record in four years received high praise from the press, including  Rolling Stone, Glide, Americana Highways, Bluegrass Situation, Live for Live Music, Grateful Web and more.

“Fruition remain sonically elusive and expansive on new album, ‘How to Make Mistakes’”

“Whole World of Trouble” Lyrics

Well what are we doing to the earth?

What are we doing to each other?

If we don’t start stopping all the madness we’re making

We’re headed for a whole world of trouble

Now we made up money and society

We made up private property

We made religions, and all of them isms

We made our beds so we could get some sleep

But I keep tossing and turning these days

The way that it’s all been going

It’s time to break it, so we can remake it

Better than it’s ever been

CHORUS

Now ya can’t fight fire with fire my friend

Hate breeds hate and the flames just spread

And Jesus Christ wouldn’t it be nice

If living together didn’t come with a price

But the prices get higher, the pay gets less

The world is getting hotter every day

The only solution is a kinder revolution

We gotta find a better way

CHORUS

Now it’s vote for the puppet or the idiot

Typical political bullshit

Cause that machine ain’t broken, it’s a rollin’ and a smokin’

On the backs of the poor for the rich

And if god made man, or man-made god

It doesn’t really matter to me

But if man makes laws, and man makes war

Surely man can make some peace

CHORUS (repeating)
