On Friday, December 1st, Entertainment Weekly (EW.com) hosted the exclusive announcement and premiere of Busted Jukebox, Vol. 2, the second surprise collaborative project from the acclaimed duo Shovels & Rope, to be released this Friday, December 8th. Busted Jukebox, Vol. 2 features the multi-talented Cary Ann Hearst and Michael Trent (aka Shovels & Rope) recording new versions of a thoughtfully curated selection of songs with a celebrated group of artists/friends.(See full track listing below.)

Busted Jukebox Vol. 2 was produced by Michael Trent and features a diverse selection of songs originally written and recorded by an eclectic list of artists, including The Clash, Concrete Blonde, Leonard Cohen, Faith No More, Sigur Ros, The Breeders, Willie Nelson and more. Artists such as Brandi Carlile, Hayes Carll, Nicole Atkins, John Fullbright and Rhett Miller help inject a new energy into these revised renditions of these tried and true classics.
Busted Jukebox Vol. 2 is the follow up to 2015’s surprise release Busted Jukebox, Vol.1, which included new takes on songs by The Kinks, Lou Reed, Guns N’ Roses, Nine Inch Nails, Nick Lowe, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris and more.
Shovels & Rope’s latest studio album, 2016’s Little Seeds received the most critical praise of their career (See Highlights). The duo has been touring and performing to sold out crowds coast to coast almost non-stop since the release.
