Hiss Golden Messenger Announces Big Fall Tour

Hiss Golden Messenger has announced an extensive coast-to-coast fall tour. The acclaimed North Carolina band, led by the profound songwriting and vocals of M.C. Taylor, will set out on September 24th in Greenville, South Carolina before crisscrossing the US, and parts of Canada. The group will be making stops in large and medium markets including Los Angeles, New Orleans, Dallas, San Diego, Nashville, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Boston and Philadelphia. Hiss Golden Messenger will set up for multiple nights in Seattle and Denver in October (see full list below).

One dollar from every ticket sold on the band’s fall headline dates goes to support the Durham Public Schools Foundation whose mission is to foster community support for public schools and invest in our students, educators and families to ensure success and equity for every student. More information on the DPS Foundation can be found online at www.bullcityschools.org

In late 2018, to the delight of Hiss’ devoted fans, Merge Records released  Devotion: Songs About Rivers and Spirits and Children, a limited edition 4-CD / 4-LP boxed set featuring remastered reissues of three beloved early Hiss Golden Messenger albums, Bad Debt (2010), Poor Moon (2012) and Haw (2013), as well as a new rarities compilation Virgo Fool (only available physically with the set). Last February, M.C. Taylor shared the first new Hiss music of 2019 with the standalone singles “Watching The Wires” and “Everybody Needs Somebody”, featuring Amelia Meath of Sylvan Esso on backing vocals. Stay tuned for another special upcoming announcement.
