Nashville Power Trio The Wans Announce New EP Run Baby Run To Be Released June 24th

Nashville-based rock power trio The Wans announce the June 24th release of their new EP Run Baby Run. The EP was produced, recorded and mixed by Vance Powell (Jack White, Arctic Monkeys) using all vintage analog gear. Run Baby Run contains six new songs that feature The Wans brand of straight-up, unapologetic, hard-edged rock & roll, with no signs of pretention or irony to be found. Their songs feature a balance of highly addictive, hook-filled melodies and a potent shot of adrenalin.

As a band that exudes the rock ethic, The Wans have grown into a “songs first” outfit. This is made clear on tracks such as electrifying “Who Are You Now”, the pulsating “Nail Me” and the driving title track, which was premiered by the UK’s acclaimed Classic Rock Magazine, who said of the song, “…like The Stooges having a baby with Stone Temple Pilots – the former on the verses, the latter on the chorus.”

Born in Ireland and raised in Nashville, lead singer/guitarist Simon Kerr sings with a passion and desperation that fuels the fire created by drummer Mark Petaccia and bassist/vocalist Thomas Bragg. Together they are a force to experience.

The Wans began making a name for themselves with the release of their self-titled EP in 2013 and their high-energy live shows. Their 2014 debut LP He Said She Said received coverage in USA Today, NME, Consequence of Sound, Flavorwire, The AV Club and more. The band toured from coast to coast and wowed crowds at major festivals, including Austin City Limits, Forecastle and Hangout Fest. The Wans music was featured in the film Point Break and on TV shows such as Nashville and Longmire. BMW even used one of their tracks in a commercial for their 4 Series Gran Coupe.

The term “Rock Is Dead” gets recycled every few years when new movements seem to take place and somebody dusts off those three words again, thinking they can bury it. The truth is, you can’t kill rock & roll. Not when bands like The Wans are out there waving the flag proudly, writing great songs and performing with a take-no-prisoners ideal. Rock is alive and well, and in good hands. Thankfully!
