Nashville, TN – Coming off of a rousing performance at Nashville’s Station Inn during AMERICANAFEST, acclaimed singer/songwriter/guitarist Cris Jacobs just released a captivating version of the title track to Lucinda Williams’s 2003 Fruits Of My Labor. The track features Jacob’s soulful vocals while playing guitar with master musician Jerry Douglass on dobro. The impromptu recording took place while the two were working on materials to promote Jacobs’ critically acclaimed album One Of The Days, which Douglas produced. Listen to “Fruits Of My Labor” HERE.

“Fruits of My Labor” is one of my desert island songs. Lucinda’s version knocked me out instantly, I listened to it on repeat until I knew every word,” says Jacobs. “The lyrics, the melody, the suggestive metaphors, and her inimitable delivery make it a perfect song. One day while in Nashville doing some promo and press with Jerry for my new record, I just started playing it as we were packing up. We had some mics set up anyway and some folks around to record it on their phone. I don’t think Jerry had ever even heard it. We just played it once and that’s what you hear.” Watch their performance HERE.

One Of These Days features 11 tracks written by Jacobs. The Baltimore native enlisted some amazing friends to contribute to the recording, including Lee Ann Womack, The McCrary Sisters, Sam Bush, Lindsay Lou, Billy Strings,  Douglas and The Infamous Stringdusters, who served as the house band. One Of These Days garnered high critical praise following its release on Soundly Music, including a feature at Rolling Stone.  Blogcritics.com called it, “…a pleasure from first cut to last,” and  DC Music Review stating that, “One of These Days is truly remarkable and special.”
