The Jayhawks Announce New Tour In Support of New Album

Seminal band The Jayhawks has announced June tour dates in support of their anticipated new album Paging Mr. Proust, releasing April 29 (Thirty Tigers). The June dates cover the Midwest and East Coast beginning on June 7 with two shows in Chicago. The run includes stops in Toronto, Boston, New York, Washington, Nashville and winds up in their hometown of Minneapolis on July 1. Look for West Coast date coming in July. See full list of dates below.

Paging Mr. Proust features 12 new songs that both push the sonic envelope and recall classic elements of their best work. The group has created an album loaded with great songwriting, beautiful harmonies and indelible melodies that immediately remind us why The Jayhawks have remained such a respected and influential band for almost three decades. Paging Mr. Proust recently received an 8/10 review in Uncut and has garnered early U.S. coverage in The Wall Street Journal Entertainment Weekly, NPR’s All Songs Considered and American Songwriter, with much more to come.

Paging Mr. Proust was co-produced by bandleader Gary Louris, REM’s Peter Buck and Tucker Martine (The Decemberists, Modest Mouse, My Morning Jacket). The album features the long-time core band members: Louris (lead vox/guitars), Marc Perlman (bass), Tim O’Reagan (drums/vox), and Karen Grotberg (keyboards/vox). Special guests include Buck, Mike Mills and Scott McCaughey.
