Nashville, TN – Beloved Country/Americana singer/songwriter William Clark Green has announced the release his seventh album, Watterson Hall, on March 6th via his independent label Bill Grease Records. After 15+ years of writing, performing and garnering a passionate fanbase that packs venues and festival stages from coast-to-coast, the Eastland, Texas native offers a new-found perspective in his life and celebrated career following marriage and the arrival of his children.
That perspective is evident on his heartfelt title track and new single. “‘Watterson Hall (Me & You)’ is a love song I wrote for my wife after a night of dancing at her hometown dancehall,” says Green. “It’s the first love song I’ve ever written for her that I felt was good enough to share. The song shows a more personal side of my writing – it came together quickly but not without effort, and it reflects the changes in my life with marriage and family. At its heart, it’s about love, experience, and writing something real.” Listen to “Watterson Hall (Me & You)” HERE.
On Watterson Hall, Green opens a new creative chapter, one shaped by love, loss, and life lessons learned through experience. As a husband and father, he leans into a deeper, more expansive worldview. The result is a collection of the most personal and meaningful songs of his career — songs that embrace joy, resilience, and of course, a touch of his signature wit.
Green’s 2024 track “Whole Lotta Lubbock” (appearing on an album for the first time) is a love letter to the scene that raised him and is now a rallying cry for Texas Tech Red Raiders football fans every Saturday. Alternately, “Where the Wild Things Are” showcases his emotional depth as the tender acoustic tones and pensive lyrics address the changes in one’s worldview that comes with fatherhood. On “Stubborn and Remains” he shares deep feelings about growing and evolving as a man while holding on to the essence of who you are. Standout track “Dear Life” is a thoughtful letter to life itself that reflects on the narrator’s journey from youth to adulthood. The song contemplates life’s fragile balances and reminds us to keep hanging on, even as time passes all too quickly.
Watterson Hall was made in Nashville with producer Logan Wall, with each track recorded live. The album exudes sincerity, joy, grit, heartfelt reflection and a new dimension of William Clark Green.
